Trump Vows Firm Response Following Decapitation of Indian-origin Hotel Owner
US President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the violent beheading of a motel manager of Indian descent hotel manager in Texas last week.
"The time for being lenient on these undocumented criminals is OVER under my administration," Trump stated in a message on his Truth Social platform.
Details of the Tragic Incident
Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, fifty years old, was reportedly attacked with a knife by his colleague the accused in front of his family after a dispute over a malfunctioning washing machine.
Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, who is now in custody, has been charged with murder.
Trump’s Response
President Trump stated that the suspect "faces prosecution to the fullest extent of the law" and is to be "indicted for murder in the first degree."
He also targeted the current administration, stating that Mr Cobos-Martinez had been earlier detained for multiple offenses, including alleged child endangerment, but was "freed back into society because his home country declined to accept his return."
Legal Background of the Suspect
According to federal records, the suspect is an unauthorized migrant with a deportation order of deportation from the US.
He was allegedly in detention at a facility in Dallas but was released on an order of supervision in early this year after Cuba "would not accept him due to his background."
Deceased’s Life
Nagamallaiah, who originated from the southern Indian state of Karnataka, worked at the Downtown Suites Motel in Dallas.
He studied at school and college in Bengaluru, southern India, before moving to the US in recent years. His child just finished high school and is planning to begin college.
Details of the Attack
The attack occurred on 10 September. Law enforcement received a "stabbing call" and confirmed through preliminary findings that the accused had cut the victim repeatedly with an blade.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on Mr Cobos-Martinez at the local jail, where he is currently in custody.

Nagamallaiah’s last rites were held on 13 September in Texas, with the presence of loved ones.
A fundraiser launched to aid his family has raised more than $321,000 to date.
