Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as confirmed by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday evening at a gathering ahead of the environmental conference, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belem.

Father and son were participating in the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a pre-COP30 gathering co-hosted by the British authorities.

Environmental Advocacy Dedication

King Charles has been a long-time champion of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil before the UN meeting.

Royal sources have characterized the Prince's participation at the upcoming climate summit as taking on an important role in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the official car, were greeted guests including environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This involvement featured addresses together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The UN meeting will dovetail with the William's personal Earthshot environmental awards, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the previous day he attends the COP summit on 6 November.

Recently the royal figure described the prize competitors as "heroes of our time".

Monarch's Environmental Record

King Charles has been a prominent presence at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in Dubai for COP28, including the observation: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".

"Throughout my life I've dedicated a substantial portion of my life trying to warn of the existential threats challenging our world over planetary heating, environmental shifts and species extinction," the sovereign addressed participants.
