The attacker has netted five goals in 10 Spanish league appearances this season.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his conduct when substituted in the recent fiery Clasico clash victory.

He was taken off in the second half and displayed his disappointment by heading directly down the tunnel.

The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the bench and, after his team's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barcelona's Lamine Yamal during contentious post-match exchanges.

"This day I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my response when I was taken off in the Clasico," the player posted on his account.

"Similarly to I have said in person during the latest session, I wish to express regret anew to my team-mates, the organization, and the club president.

"Sometimes emotion overcomes me because I always want to succeed and help my side. My determined nature originates in the affection I hold for this team and everything it stands for."

He signed for Madrid from Flamengo in 2018 for a significant fee and has scored over a century of strikes in numerous matches.

But his future in the La Liga is unclear with speculation in lately indicating that Real would think about allowing the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a appropriate bid.

When he was taken off on the match day, broadcast footage from network Dazn recorded him stating: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I go, I'm going."

In his most recent message on the platform, Vinicius said: "I promise to keep battling at all times for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have performed since the first day."
