'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Desperately Seek Information After Alpine Fire

The relatives of young people unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a establishment in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an agonising wait for answers and appealing for clues about their loved ones via social media.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified images show the ceiling igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the disaster, which resulted in the death of 40 people and hurt another over a hundred. Authorities noted on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process still underway to identify the final individuals.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been taking to the internet to appeal for clues about their missing relatives who were in attendance that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his family.

The Italian Golf Federation has said that he is deceased, without mentioning the tragedy, paying tribute to a "talented young man who embodied dedication and true sportsmanship."

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is likewise unaccounted for. His parent told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and ended up at the bar.
